Weekly Recap
This week felt hefty with the to-dos, but spring is officially here and with it my shopping wishlist always grows. Call Me Shallow is one of my favorite diversions from the more mandatory stuff, so let's get into it. Today it's Jennifer Lawrence's street style, recent saves, and a few fun additions to the wishlist.
This silk dress from Róhe went straight to the top of my wishlist. I've been searching for something like this to add to my wardrobe for some time, and while Colleen Allen offered a great option along with Kallmeyer, this takes the cake.
It was seen on Jennifer Lawrence, one of my favorites for New York street style inspiration. I would be on StarStyle.com searching her outfits more often if my laptop didn't overheat every time that website tries to ramp up.
Maybe I don’t read garment descriptions enough, but Róhe mentioning the origin of the closure was refreshing to see.
Crafted from our signature premium pure silk, this full-length dress features pankou closures, a fastening detail rooted in traditional Chinese garment construction. The v-neckline and high front split create a graceful, flowing silhouette for effortless elegance.

My closet is built to be repeatable by design. I don't want my lifeline, the white tank, to be sold out or find myself waiting with bated breath on a drop just to score a basic tee. I want to wear my go-to items without the worry of ruining them or scrambling for a replacement when they're on the brink of extinction after all the wear and tear. I like that I can buy the same tank over and over again, and there is a real trust that comes from a brand keeping the same silhouette and colors around for years. Before I get into the fun part of this article, I'd be remiss not to link the item I keep coming back to, which is the Flore Flore Isla tank in off-white. Now, in the words of Shania Twain, ‘Let’s go girls.’
My feet are already sweating just staring at these jelly mules, and no shoe has ever made me seriously consider hunting down foot powder, but I’m going to draw a line there. If you can wear jelly shoes, these Chloé ones are worth it.
Below is a bag that adds a little oomph without breaking the bank. I’ve mentioned Valesque more than a few times now so I’ll spare you the full pitch, but more styles just landed on Net-a-Porter and they’re a steal for under $200.
And before we move on, may I offer you a photo of Jennifer Lawrence one last time. A statement pant from Siedres, a baggy polo, no makeup. Comfort in the way of a baggy polo and a baseball cap for a no-wash hair day, and bedazzled pink pants for the sake of, you guessed it, fun.

Sliding back into neutral territory, a few bags I’ve been loving. The first is from Rue de Verneuil and it is a great alternative to the Hermès Garden Party bag we’ve been seeing everywhere. It is new, so no secondhand hunting required, and it keeps those same clean lines for a fraction of the price.
The second is another Valesque style, a great everyday size that works for just about anything.
In what seems like a world full of effortless summer pant options, I need to preorder the Kira pant from Clyque. It is similar to their best-selling Hunter pant but without the crop.
This was a short one. Thank you for reading and hope you have a great weekend!
If you make a purchase with the links provided, I may receive a commission.
Thank you for supporting Call Me Shallow.
